Oklahoma Teaching Artist Roster Application

The Oklahoma Teaching Artist Roster is a resource list of Oklahoma artists available for school and community learning projects statewide. Roster artists are not employees of the Oklahoma Arts Council.

To join the roster, artists must demonstrate exceptional artistic and instructional abilities through a rigorous application and interview process.

Selection process

  1. Applicant Phase

    • Applications can be submitted anytime during the calendar year. Be sure to submit required support materials as noted in the application.
    • Staff pre-screens all applications to validate requirements compliance. Applicants are vetted for transition to the Candidate Phase.

  2. Candidate Phase

    • Panelist review: scoring of application and support material by an outside panel of professionals.

    • Staff will contact candidate to schedule interview.
  3. Confirmation Phase


Support material

Be sure to submit all required support materials after completing your online application. Please note support materials will not be returned.

  1. Cover letter

  2. Resume (or curriculum vitae)

  3. Professional, high-resolution photo (please email this)

  4. Three lesson plans with sample learning assessment tools

  5. Curriculum map rubric that outlines arts learning goals, related subject content, suggested learning activities, and corresponding student learning assessment tools

  6. Work samples (as detailed in the Teaching Artist Roster Handbook)

Successful applications submitted before January 1 of a calendar year will be reviewed and voted on by the board during its June meeting.
