MuralOnline Lessons & Activities: Teaching with Capitol Art

We've designed lessons and activites based on the historic artwork of the Oklahoma state Capitol that educators can use for free. Our Teaching with Capitol Art resources easily integrate into your lessons.

Social studies topics like the Oklahoma Land Run, the Dust Bowl, African-American History in Oklahoma, Geography, and more are covered. Visual art resources for teaching creative thought, symbolism, drawing, painting and more are also available.

Our one-day, pre-packaged Performing Arts Corps program is the perfect introduction to the performing arts for your students and a great way to minimize the cost of bringing performers to your school. Even better, our performers leave you with curriculum you can use with other lessons in many subjects, inspiring student learning through the arts.

School roomSmall Grant Support for Schools

Schools are eligible for grants of up to $2500 twice per year through Small Grant Support for Schools. This grant category gives you the flexibility to design your own arts program with a teaching artist of your choice and show us how you will assess student learning - our grants can cover fees for instruction and a percentage of the supplies for the project. Your cash match? Only 10 percent.

gayeOur grants department staff is happy to help educators navigate our e-Grant system. We aim to help schools make the most of our grants so they can improve education through the arts. That means our system should be as easy as possible for educators to use.
