Stimulus Funding Information
Oklahoma Arts Council funding
The Oklahoma Arts Council has awarded 16 nonprofit arts organizations with federal stimulus funds to protect jobs in the state’s arts community.
As the official state agency for the support and development of the arts in Oklahoma, the Council received $306,800 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The Council received applications from 44 nonprofit arts organizations requesting a total of $1,100,000. Grants were awarded in amounts of $15,000 or $28,360.
Arts recovery funds may only be used to pay for one or more positions critical to an organization’s artistic mission that are in jeopardy or have been eliminated because of the current economic climate.
