2009 OKLAHOMA ARTS CONFERENCE
INFORMATION NOW ONLINE

Oklahoma City, OK The Oklahoma Arts Council announced today that information about the 2009 Oklahoma Arts Conference is now online. Find registration, lodging and conference schedule information at the Oklahoma Arts Council's website at www.arts.ok.gov regarding the conference that will be held at the Wes Watkins Center on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma on October 7-9.

Executive Director Suzanne Tate said the Conference theme of “Moving Forward In A Challenging Economy” is particularly timely this year as non-profit arts organizations are dealing with critical issues right now. "This conference provides a once a year opportunity for arts supporters throughout our state to meet as a united group in support of the arts in Oklahoma." Tate added that she hopes arts and community leaders, elected officials, artists and educators will join us for the annual conference.

Council staff have designed a quality, professional development experience combining panels, workshops, resource sharing and guest presenters. In addition, during this three-day event, participants will have the opportunity to hear panelists discuss unique arts programming being offered throughout the state.

New at this year's conference is a track for career bound performing artists called “Managing Your Career.” This track will address the business skills needed to advance self management for touring and performing artists.

Deadline to register for the 2009 Oklahoma Arts Conference is September 25th.
