THE PROCESS OF DISCOVERY PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT
COMES TO THE STATE CAPITOL

Oklahoma City, OK -- Oklahoma City photographer Keith Rinearson has spent most of his life learning his craft and was introduced to photography by his father who is an accomplished photographer in his own right. “He taught me to seek new and innovative ways to capture a moment in time, which has always influenced the look of my images,” said Rinearson.

Curated by the Oklahoma Arts Council, Rinearson’s photography exhibit, The Process of Discovery, will be on display in the first floor of the North Gallery at the State Capitol from Sept. 15 to Nov. 9. The North Gallery is devoted to Oklahoma’s finest photographers and is open daily from 8:30-5:00.

Creating the images in the hot and often dusty fields of Oklahoma included in The Process of Discovery was both a calming and renewing experience for Rinearson. “I enjoy helping Oklahomans see their state differently and having the opportunity to create and share these images gives me a great sense of fulfillment. I try to keep a keen eye on the quality of light. Finding the right mood as the light and shadows play with a scene is an important part of my technique.”

Honing his skills while shooting a variety of subjects from architecture and natural landscapes to people and corporate imagery, Keith quickly gained a reputation as a commercial photographer and artist. In his life and work, he is drawn to industrial themes and strong forms and founded PhotoArt Studios in Oklahoma City.

His client list includes architects and builders, corporations and private citizens and retail stores. Chesapeake Energy, where he serves as Artistic Photographer, has hundreds of his images in their private collection. He is also Photography Director for Southwestern Publishing’s group of publications including Nichols Hills News, Edmond Monthly, Norman Living, NW Style and Downtown Monthly.
