The Oklahoma Arts Calendar
is going WIMGO
It’s time for some spring cleaning.
We’re making some improvements to the Oklahoma Arts Calendar and we’ve found just what we need. It’s a new online calendar network called Wimgo created by the OPUBCO Communications Group. Wimgo brings everything Oklahoma right to your fingertips and makes less work for you.
Wimgo is a one-stop, comprehensive collection of all things to do and places to go in Oklahoma. Whether you are an arts organization, school, library, or an artist, you will still be able to share your events on the Oklahoma Arts Calendar.
- The current Oklahoma Arts Calendar will not be available for users to add new events from March 24th through March 31st while we make the change to Wimgo. Events you’ve already added to the Calendar will be transferred to Wimgo and will appear on the new calendar.
- On April 1st, you will need a new username and password and then you will be able to resume adding your events.
- After April 1st, when you go to the Oklahoma Arts Calendar you will see an Add An Event link at the top. If you do not already have a NewsOK or Wimgo profile, you can sign up there for a new username and password. After you login, fill in the who, what, where, when and why about your event. Then select the Oklahoma Arts Council box at the bottom.
Your event will appear in the Oklahoma Arts Calendar on the Oklahoma Arts Council’s website and on Wimgo’s main site. You can also choose to display your event on a growing list of community and business sites, You can even add photos and videos too! The best news is that you only have to fill in the blanks once!
You and all users of the Oklahoma Arts Calendar, will be able to search for an event by date or key word, set up your own profile page, upload your own photo or avatar, make comments about upcoming events, mark events that interest you, and see a map to the event locations and restaurants that are near each event. Wimgo has a blog and an area for FAQs, if you have questions.
