Small Grant Support for Schools
Application Preview
For your convenience, the Oklahoma Arts Council has provided a preview of the Small Grant Support for Schools Application. Please remember that to actually submit an application or a final report, applicants must login to the e-grant system. Remember to check your organization and contact information after logging into the e-grant system. Each organization must have a Grant Contact and a separate individual designated as Authorizing Official. In the case of schools, please use the principal or superintendent.
Deadline: 60 days prior to the beginning date of project
PLEASE NOTE: When you are ready to apply, read all questions in the application carefully and respond accordingly. Check to make sure your answer corresponds with the question, as numbering may be slightly different from the preview to the application.

Project Information – All narrative questions in this section must be answered using no more than 400 characters.
- Title of project
- Total number of youth that will receive direct benefit from the project as audience members or participants
- Total number of adults that will receive direct benefit from the project as audience members or participants
- Project Dates
Dropdown boxes will appear for selection of the project start and end dates - Summarize the project in 2-3 sentences
- Specific dates or date ranges for the project
- Physical address for the location of the project
- Name, phone number and/or e-mail address of the project coordinator
Project Budget – You will be required to enter your project expenses. You must use whole numbers only. Do not use commas, decimals or ranges.
Expenses
- Outside contracted administrative costs directly associated with the project (Example: contracted project coordinator)
- Outside contracted artistic costs directly associated with the project
- Artistic supplies for the project – Cannot exceed 25% of total project cost
- Artist relocation

You will be taken to a page that displays your expenses of one side and your income on the other. The school’s required contribution and the amount requested from the Council will automatically populate based on the expenses you listed.

Artistic Quality
List all artists, artistic groups, or persons providing artistic instruction affiliated with this project. Identify affiliated artists by using the “Oklahoma Teaching Artist,” “Oklahoma Touring Artist,” or “Non-Roster Artist buttons. Repeat the process to add any additional artists. When you have completed adding artists, click "Submit this section" to complete this section. – Please note that you should have the names of any contracted artistic personnel, fees and contact information for them available when you start the application in the OAC E-Grant System.
Project Educational Merit – The narrative question in this section must be answered using no more than 4000 characters.
Affiliated School Sites – You will be asked to begin by selecting a county and clicking “Continue” to select a district. You may add multiple sites.
- Total number of individuals receiving hands-on instruction, which should reflect ONLY the target population for the project
- Grade levels that will receive hands-on instruction
You will be asked to select from a pick list - List the arts learning goals for this project. These goals should include specific artistic techniques, concepts and methods the participants will learn. (Example: For a three-week pottery course, students will demonstrate knowledge of coil technique and the ability to create a ceramic vessel. Students will implement the concepts of symmetry and balance.)
- Average number of hours EACH participant will be actively engaged in the hands-on creative process (Example: The workshop will involve 10 participants and each participant will receive a minimum of 10 hours of hands-on instruction in watercolor technique.)

National Endowment for the Arts Statistics
You will be required to answer either “Yes” or “No” to a total of 9 questions. The questions are directed at obtaining statistical data about your project that must be reported to the National Endowment for the Arts.
No preparation is required prior to answering the questions.
