The Process of Discovery
September 15 thru November 9, 2008
For Oklahoma City photographer Keith Rinearson creating the images for The Process of Discovery was both a calming and renewing experience even though they were captured in the hot and often dusty fields of Oklahoma.
“I enjoy helping Oklahomans see their state differently and having the opportunity to create and share these images gives me a great sense of fulfillment. I try to keep a keen eye on the quality of light. Finding the right mood as the light and shadows play with a scene is an important part of my technique,” said Rinearson.
As a professional photographer for over a decade, Rinearson has made it his mission to capture the world through his lens in a way that is powerful, dramatic and inspiring. “Intense colors, textures, movement, simplicity and purity have all become signatures in my images. Photography has always been a process of discovery for me. To this day, I still find myself developing new effects and reinventing my own rules.”
Rinearson has spent most of his life learning his craft and was introduced to photography by his father who is an accomplished photographer in his own right. “He taught me to seek new and innovative ways to capture a moment in time, which has always influenced the look of my images.”
Honing his skills while shooting a variety of subjects from architecture and natural landscapes to people and corporate imagery, Rinearson quickly gained a reputation as a commercial photographer and artist. In his life and work, he is drawn to industrial themes and strong forms and founded PhotoArt Studios in Oklahoma City as an extension of this interest.
His client list includes architects, builders, corporations, retail stores and private citizens. Chesapeake Energy, where he serves as Artistic Photographer, has hundreds of his images in their private collection. He is also Photography Director for Southwestern Publishing’s group of publications including Nichols Hills News, Edmond Monthly, Norman Living, NW Style and Downtown Monthly.
