Eligibility for the Oklahoma Teaching Roster

  1. Artists must be current Oklahoma residents

  2. Artists representing cultural traditions must show evidence of authenticity

  3. Artists must prove proficiency within the specific artistic discipline in which applying.

  4. Artists must not have been convicted of any sex offense subject to Oklahoma Sex Offenders Registration Act nor have any felony offense, unless 10 years has elapsed since the date of the criminal conviction or has received a pardon for the criminal offense as per the provisions of the law.

Qualities expected of Oklahoma Teaching Roster artists:

  1. Demonstrate artistic and educational merit in their discipline and have a willingness to work with educational organizations across Oklahoma.

  2. Ability to engage participants in a hands-on creative process

  3. Willingness to work towards school and/or community needs or educational goals

  4. Ability to plan, design and sequence residency activities in partnership with individuals from the sponsoring organization, including arts coordinators, teachers or volunteers

  5. Be familiar with a classroom environment, development of curriculum and methods of measuring learning outcomes

  6. Be familiar with state and national standards for arts education
